*Please share a
little about yourself:
Hi. Thank you so much for having me here. My name is Christi
Snow and I’m a HUGE reader. I read over 450 books a year and to say I am
obsessed is probably putting it mildly. I love to read. That’s honestly why I
started writing. You know that feeling that you get when you’ve read a really
amazing book? You know, when your stomach is full of butterflies and you even
dream about those characters. I wanted to be able to do that for someone else
so I started writing. Operation: Endgame is the result. I
hope Jake and Cassie give you those happy butterflies.
*Tell us about your
latest release:
Operation: Endgame is the first book in the When the Mission Ends trilogy. The
series focuses on a group of friends and family who live in Lubbock, TX. This
is a very military minded group. Three of the guys are active duty Air Force
and one of the girls is a military history professor at Texas Tech University.
They are all thrown off-kilter when one of the main characters is killed in
action at the beginning of book #1. That event affects everything that happens
over the next three books as these friends learn to adjust to this huge change
in their lives.
Book #1 features Cassie, twin to Chris who was killed in
action, and their best friend Jake. They are both dealing with the grief from
Chris’s death, as well as new feelings between the two of them. That is all
exacerbated by a threat to Cassie when a stalker invades her life. The book
takes place at Christmastime.
*Are you a mom?
I am. I stay home and take care of my two kids: 17 yo Jacob
and 5 yo Kat. They are a huge influence on my writing. We’re a retired military
family (my husband retired from the Air Force after 20 years 2 years ago) and
the entire inspiration for this series came from my son Jacob. When he was
around 10 years old, we were stationed at Pope AFB, NC. He had a group of
friends that inspired the prologue. They would spend hours in the woods playing
war games in full camouflage and face paint. That germ of an idea is where this
story started. BTW, you can read the prologue on Amazon…
*Do you find it hard
to juggle writing and parenting?
Not really. My kids both LOVE that I write. My 5 yo
especially sits at my feet while I’m typing away and creates her own books. She
started school this year, but was home when I wrote the first two books in the
trilogy. As a result, I tend to “talk” with her when
I am working through scenes in my head (don’t worry, no corruption…I talk about
the books in EXTREMELY vague terms…she doesn’t know about all the sex, death,
and destruction.) In Operation: Endeavor, Kat
provided ideas for two very pivotal scenes….1.) the butterfly was all Kat’s
idea and, 2.) Kat herself actually appears in the book. Both hubby and mom are
slightly appalled at that fact (*ahem* she may or may not be a bad guy in the
book). I continue to state in my defense though that it was TOTALLY her idea! ;o)
*If this book is part of a series, what is the next book? Any details
you can share?
There are two more books coming
out in this series. Book #2, Operation: Endeavor will be out in
January. It features Cassie’s older brother, Colton, and one of her best
friends, Penelope. This is very much an example of opposites attract. Colton is
this huge, serious, alpha guy. He’s used to being in charge, but he’s met his
match with Penelope. She’s a dippy hippy party girl who absolutely will not let
him boss her around…something he doesn’t take well especially because she’s in
danger and he NEEDS to protect her. I love them together!
*What are you reading right now?
I just spent the weekend devouring
Toni Aleo’s Assassins series featuring her sexy NHL hockey players. Yummy!
Remember me talking about those butterflies earlier…oh yeah, this series
definitely gives them to me. That girl can write some great emotional
characters and story lines.
