Interview with Charlie Daye Author of The Gypsy's Dance

Please share a little about yourself, your genres, any other pen names you use.
I write under the name of Charlie Daye and am a paranormal romance author. I love everything Dean Koontz and Disney. I’m married to a very talented chef and love to watch people’s faces when I tell them I’m half Spanish. It seems to shock them!

Tell us a little about your latest or upcoming release.
Gypsy’s Dance is my newest release. It’s about a girl named Oralia who’s been promised to marry a horrible man name Tobias but when Tobias uses dark magic on her to make her conform to his will, her parents break off the engagement and allow her to marry the Hunter that saves her. What happens next is journey filled with love and revenge and what happens when magic and steel collide for the love of a gypsy dancer.

Have you ever based your book or characters on actual events or people from your own life?
All the time. All my friends have been warned – you never when you might end up in one of my books or on the cover.

Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?
Not really. Only that I believe in happily ever after.

What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
I have a Barbie doll collection! *laughs*

When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures?
I love reading. I also love a good action movie. Actually, action movies are all I watch kind of funny since I write romance.

Which romance book or series (or other genre, if you don’t write romance) do you wish you had written?
I’m not sure. I’ve read so many wonderful series that it would be hard to choose just one.

Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?
Children or YA. Unfortunately, every time I come with a story it’s a little to heated for younger audiences.

Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?
I love Markus. He’s the oldest of the Raydon boys and in my opinion the sexiest. He’s like the strong silent type that can lure you in with a look.

If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?
It is part of a series. The next book is called the Mermaid’s Sanctuary and is Keagan Raydon’s story. It’s about a Mer-Princess who gets herself in a whole lot of trouble after disobeying her father’s direct order and winds up in the arms of a Hunter who’s intent on claiming her for his own.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
My next release is called Butterfly, it comes out on Halloween. It’s based in London and is the story of a woman named Avirea who finds herself on the receiving end of a summoning spell but since she is not what the summoner expected he shuns her. But, that is where things get interesting.

What book are you reading now?
Rapture by Lauren Kate

What is in your to read pile?
Oh lord! It’s a long list! But some of the authors includes are Jacquelyn Frank, Rosanna Leo, DX Luc, Karen Moning and JR Ward.

 About the Author:

Charlie Daye began writing at the tender age of thirteen. With an obsession for romance, happy endings and the supernatural she delves into your greatest fantasies and worst nightmares. Charlie Daye was born in Lynwood, California. Her greatest passions are music and writing. Her first short story was written at the age of thirteen. The short story titled The Haunted House went on to win her district wide awards and was published locally. From there she began writing poetry as means of expression. Since then Charlie has written five full length novels, three of which are currently available for sale, and one novella. She has several other books in the works and looks forward to sharing her various worlds with you.
