Interview with Author Karen-Anne Stewart

Welcome mom and author Karen-Anne Stweart

Hi!  Thank you for having me on your site today :-).  I am the mom of a wonderfully creative daughter that keeps me on my toes.

If yes do you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting?

It is a juggle being a mom, wife, working full time, and being an author.  I’ve learned the importance of managing my time over the past year, but I’m loving the wild ride!

Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?

Hope!  Even though Saving Rain, Healing Rain, and After the Rain have dark issues of abuse and human trafficking, hope and beautiful, redeeming love is weaved throughout the trilogy.  Strength is also a huge part of the story.  Despite Raina’s past and her fears, she is such a strong character that is determined to overcome and survive.

What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?

I’m quite shy in person.  When I began writing Saving Rain, I found out what I was meant to do (I know that sounds like such a cliché, but it’s true J).  I come alive when I write and my shyness disappears.

Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?

Kas is my favorite character.  I love how fiercely Kas loves and protects Raina and how he is willing to do anything to save her.  Readers will see his struggle with trying to protect Raina without controlling her throughout the trilogy, especially in the final novel, After the Rain.

If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?

The Rain Trilogy is a powerful story of abuse, human trafficking, and beautiful, redeeming love.

Saving Rain focuses on the developing relationship between Kas and Raina while delving into her dark past. The Ghost, the elusive leader in the largest trafficking ring in modern history, is introduced in the first novel of the trilogy.   There are no full blown sex scenes in Saving Rain, although, there is some serious sexual tension.

Healing Rain goes deeper into the powerful love shared between Kas and Raina while introducing a new character that knocks them to their knees.  Raina goes undercover again, knowing that her life is at risk, but she is blindsided when it’s her heart that is in danger of a mortal blow.  Healing Rain does have intimate scenes that are written more as a psychological parallel and a form of healing rather than for erotic purposes.  The Ghost comes face to face with Raina, leaving her determined to end his reign of terror and leaving Kas willing to do anything to protect her.

After the Rain gets a bit hotter with the intimate scenes and is full of explosive action! The reader gets to see inside the head of the Ghost while learning more about the funny, intimidating, and very protective group of FBI team members that are hell-bent in taking down the handlers involved in human trafficking.  Lives are put in danger, lost, and forever changed in After the Rain.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?

I’m currently working on a completely different novel, Ash to Steele.  I hope to have this stand alone written by the end of December so I can get it to the amazing group of beta readers!
