Music for Green: A Life Force Novel by S. Briones Lim

Music Feeds Me

Someone once asked me how I go about writing my stories. Specifically, they wanted to know the process of which I plot my storylines. Well, that’s one loaded question because truthfully I don’t really have a “set” process. What I do have is a pretty vivid imagination and a love for movies.

Now, I don’t know about other authors, but when I sit down to pen a story I allow it to play out in my mind like a movie. The characters are casted, the settings picked out and the dialogue flows as if already scripted. Heck, all that’s missing is some SnoCaps and popcorn! Though I admit, I tend to munch on the buttery goodness as often as possible ;)

That being said, can you tell me what one of the most vital pieces to a movie is? It’s the music of course! I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve sat in the theater and just fell in love with the movie’s soundtrack. A movie’s music often perfectly captures the emotions of each character and characteristics of each setting and scene. Given my “process,” it only makes sense that I crave that same magic when I’m writing!

While penning, Green: A Life Force Novel, I often could be found with my earphones in and lost in the world of Brookesville. As you may or may not know, Brookesville is the fictional town that my story takes place.  It was a lot of fun creating the atmosphere of the country-esque town. Of course, I had a little musical help during the process! I want to share with you my soundtrack to Green: A Life Force Novel – my soundtrack to Brookesville. The music perfectly captures the setting and the emotions that I wanted to portray. Now sit back and enjoy some awesome music  Press “repeat” if you must!

Thank you :) I have to admit, I had Barton Hallow on endless repeat while I was writing. I think I can sing it in my sleep ;)
