Interview with Tanith Davenport

Tell us a little about your latest or upcoming release.

Ready for Him is part of the Tied to the Billionaire anthology, a collection of stories about hot, dominant billionaires and the women who love them. My heroine Jade Bleecker is a tattooed, pierced martial artist staying in Las Vegas for the weddings of her three best friends; when she meets billionaire Will Vandenmeer while beating up the man attempting to mug him, he invites her up to his suite and offers to induct her into his world of BDSM…

Are you a mom?

I’m not, although I have the greatest respect for writers who manage to juggle work and parenting. I find it difficult enough to find the time to write as it is. I do, however, have two cats who make enough mess to rival the most enthusiastic toddler.

When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures?

I love new experiences – I will go anywhere to try a new restaurant or visit a new place. I also love to watch movies, especially horror, and am a classically trained singer.

Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?

I have several ideas for literary fiction – whether I will get round to writing them is a different story.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?

My Clandestine Classic The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is out on September 6th and my short Sleepwalker is out in November. I’m just finishing off two other novellas which will hopefully be out next year.

What book are you reading now?

Right now I’m reading “House of Darkness, House of Light” by Andrea Perron. The release of the movie “The Conjuring” has led me to read up on all the Warren cases.

Tattooed, pierced and a martial artist, Jade is used to inspiring fear rather than desire in men, and even if she did find one who could handle her - well, no man is worth trusting with her body.

But, as she is leaving the bar, she comes upon a mugging in progress and, with a few swift moves, makes short work of the mugger. Invited up to the victim's room for a nightcap, she is stunned to discover he is Will Vandenmeer - billionaire poster child of the Vandenmeer hotel and casino chain, and owner of The Sanctuary, one of the best known BDSM clubs in New York City.

Jade finds herself hopelessly attractive to the sensual, dominant Will, and when he offers to induct her into the world of BDSM, she accepts... but can she truly give herself to him, and is Will ready for what Jade has to offer?

The Angels of The Winged Series by LM Pruitt

A Little Like You and Me

When I first started thinking about writing the WINGED series, I didn’t give a lot of thought to making the archangels different. To me, they were characters in the books, each with their own unique motivation for acting and thinking the way they do. Some part of me realized that this would fly in the face of what most people think about angels—especially considering the fact I was dealing with recognized, named archangels and not simply angels I’d made up. But in the end, I didn’t care.
Because I like to believe that all angels—those unnamed and those named—are at least a little like you and me.
I’ve mentioned before (or at least I think I have—the details are haze now and then on what I’ve said—that’s what happens when you talk a lot) that I find it hard to believe God (or whichever religious figure you believe in) just randomly threw a bunch of traits and emotions together in humans and hoped for the best. I mean, I know the Bible at least refers to humans as God’s greatest creation. If that’s true, then I really hope He did a few test runs first.
And why wouldn’t one of those be with the angels and archangels?
So giving Raphael, the patron saint of medical workers and medicine, a soft heart and a distaste for war makes sense to me. Michael, the renowned warrior angel, would of course be harsher, more inclined to be short of temper and a little sarcastic. There would be angels of all nationalities, all sexual orientations, all temperments.
So yes, my archangels are a little different than what most people are used to. They’re more raw, more rough around the edges, more prone to lust and anger and hurt and jealousy.
In short, they’re a little like you and me.

Winged
By LM Pruitt

I fell from the Talmadge Bridge the week before I turned thirty.

I was given a choice: Go to Heaven. Go back to my life in Savannah. Or spend eternity fighting evil under the direction of the archangels.

I chose the demons--and the angels.

I chose the Winged.
