Interview with Renea Mason

Please share a little about yourself, your genres, any other pen names you use.

I’m a paranormal and erotic romance author.

Tell us a little about your latest or upcoming release.

My upcoming release is entitled Between the Waters – Symphony of Light Book Two.  It’s the sequel to my award-winning Symphony of Light and Winter.

Are you a mom?

 I’m a mom to two pre-school boys.

If yes do you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting?

Yes.  Extremely difficult.

Have you ever based your book or characters on actual events or people from your own life?

No.  I’m sure there are parts of my personality in most characters, but there is no one I wrote about on purpose.

Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?

Everyone makes mistakes—even the seemingly infallible.  Every action has unintended consequences.  There are many more…

What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?

Probably that I manage to write, raise a family, and hold an important day job while having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for 10 + years.

When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures?

There isn’t time for anything else.  Writing is my hobby and my passion.

Which romance book or series (or other genre, if you don’t write romance) do you wish you had written?

None.  I’ve written all that I want to.  My contemporary erotic romance will be realized this fall.

Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?

Someday I want to write an “Erma Bombeck style” book and appease those who have been hounding me to write it. 

Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?

Cyril – He’s an unapologetic sex god.  Enough said.

If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?

Symphony of Light and Winter is the first book in the Symphony of Light Series. The second book is due out this summer—Between the Waters – Book Two.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?

Between the Waters will be available from Etopia Press this summer.  I’ll be self-publishing the first book in a contemporary ménage trilogy this fall entitled Curing Doctor Vincent.

What book are you reading now?

I have Fashionably Dead Down Under queued up.

What is in your to read pile?

Everything.  I miss my favorite authors.

One woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.

Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.

But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him…
