Water’s Threshold by Jillian Jacobs

Thanks for this opportunity to discuss, Water’s Threshold. I love your blog title. Green is my favorite color.

Welcome, Jillian :-) Please share a little about yourself, your genres, any other pen names you use.-

If I could time travel, I’d journey to Victorian England, just so I could enjoy teatime. For my birthday, my mother bought me yet another mini tea set. I should do a blog featuring each set. I write in paranormal and contemporary genres, both with suspenseful elements. I don’t have another pen name. Too many email and Facebook passwords as it is. Yikes!

Tell us a little about your first release.

Water’s Threshold, is a suspense-filled, paranormal about an Elemental woman who uses water as her perpetuating life force. My heroine, Maya Conway is tapped to prepare Terran Forrester, a mortal environmental scientist, to become the Elemental Earth. An ancient evil covets the Elementals gifts, and will stop at nothing to possess a newly transformed Terran.

Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?

Choices you make in life matter. Take care of the earth, and realize there is very little fresh water available. Keep our waters clean. www.water.org

Which romance book or series (or other genre, if you don’t write romance) do you wish you had written?

The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning.

Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?

Quint. The villain in this tale. He has no moral compass. No limitations, as he’s never-ending. Dark matter makes up 95% of the universe, after all.

If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?

Fire’s Field is next in the series. The third book, will complete the series and feature the air Elemental.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?

Ember’s Center will be available end of December 2014 for use with all those Christmas gift cards. This is the first in my contemporary, O-line series, featuring three offensive linemen from a professional football team.

Fire’s Field, the second in this Elementals series coming first Quarter 2015. I left poor Flint dealing with a burning building to prepare for Water’s Threshold’s release. I need to get back so he can extinguish the blaze.

Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity.~Jillian Jacobs.

Thanks for being my guest toda, Jillian.

What happens when a lonely water-girl finally finds her shore?

On her current path, she is content using her life force water to protect humans and the environment. Her direction is altered when Mother Nature taps her to guide Terran Forrester, an analytical scientist, on his journey to become the next Elemental Earth.

If Maya crosses into his world, will her lonely heart find a partner or will his rational mind reject her otherworldly existence?

When an ancient evil evolved from dark matter shadows their steps, which path will they choose—logic or love?

Short Excerpt:

Hazy heat shot through her body. “Not shy at all, are you?” If only Terran knew how easily she could push him away.
“I’m very clear about what I want.” His dominant position was much too commanding, but at the same time, Maya found his boldness intriguing.
His lips hovered above hers and the scent of cinnamon enticed her senses. Their elemental connection vibrated throughout her body—strong, sensual, primal. Why him? Why had she never felt this attraction to Nodin or Flint? Was it because water flowed toward the shore? Was he the grounding force beneath her feet?
If she stretched, her lips would meet his. The flames from their kiss would burn down the building.
Fahrenheit 451 had nothing on them.
However, book burning in the children’s section would most likely get her dismissed as a volunteer. Tonight was soon enough to find out just how good cinnamon-flavored Terran tasted.
“I’ll drop by later.” She pushed a book against his chest and waited until he took it before stepping from under his cage. “You should read that book. It’s very informative.”

His brows drew together as he read the title aloud, “The Little Mermaid?”

I am bookmarking your page right now. Thanks for hosting me. My books do touch on the importance of keeping it "green." I have my younger sister to thank for that. She moved to Seattle years ago and made me see the earth in the proper manner. And researching for this book made me realize the preciousness of fresh water. I could go on, but thanks again for placing Water's Threshold in the spotlight.
