Release Day Blitz Deliverance by Kristy Centeno

Tell us a little about your latest or upcoming release.

Deliverance is a paranormal/NA set in contemporary times where the human and paranormal world collides in a race against time, where our protagonists have to seek help from the most unlikely forces in order to stop a mad man from extinguishing all they hold dear.

If you are a parent do you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting? Any tips for time management or sneaking in writing time?

I do find it difficult at times. I have 5 children under the age 13. Although my older children are not as dependent on me anymore, I have a toddler running around, and I often have to wait for her to go to bed before I can sit down and write.

As parents, we often develop routines that work for us. Because my kids go to school I tend to get them to bed early so that I can have some time for myself. With a 2 year old this isn't always easy since she's a ball of energy and often wants to stay up past her bedtime, but I work around whatever she pulls on me and eventually she'll go to sleep. Of course, this often means I have to lay next to her until she finally dozes off, but you do what you have to.

Have you ever based your book or characters on actual events or people from your own life?

On occasions I have.

Is there a theme or message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?

Appearances can be deceiving.

When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures?

When I'm not writing I am either working, or picking up after 5 kiddies. However, whenever I have some much needed time to myself, I like to read, write, listen to music, go shopping, spending time with the kids by engaging in an outdoor activity, or having a movie night.

Which romance book or series (or other genre, if you don’t write romance) do you wish you had written?

None, really. As much as I love being a writer, I enjoy the work from other authors just as much. Especially because they have different writing styles than mine.

Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?

Historical romance. A lot more research goes into writing a historical piece. Therefore I haven't tackled this yet, but I hope to one day.

Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?

One of my favorites is Kyran Rousseau from the Secrets of the Moon saga. He is an individual with an array of problems and traumas he is forced to carry with him, yet somehow he always pulls through. He is no perfect, and has a bit of a temper, but he's loyal to a fault. And when he loves, he gives his all.

If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?

Originally, I had not planned for Deliverance to be part of any series. However, as I wrapped up the book I realized there are a lot of unanswered questions the readers would want to know about.
There is also more going on with the male lead and his bloodline. I knew I'd have to write a second book eventually, and after discussing this with my publisher, we realized a sequel was a must.

What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in
progress?

Yes. I have book 2 of the Forgotten Divinity series due to be released in December. I'm also working on book 3 for that series, and plotting book 6 for the Secrets of the Moon saga.

What book are you reading now?

I was recently reading Masquerade by Hannah Fielding.

What is in your to read pile?

I have over 400 books I haven't gotten to yet. It's embarrassing. I keep downloading books I want to read, but due to lack of time, don't.

Excerpt 2:
I pull open the driver’s-side door, only to have it brusquely shut by a rather large, pale hand. Startled by the suddenness of the man’s appearance, I shift to my left and come eye to eye with a bulky-looking individual with dark brown eyes, and a scar that traces a fine line from his upper lip all the way down to his chin.
“Don’t attract attention, missy.” He sneers at me.
I glance down at the feel of something hard poking my ribcage and find, much to my horror, that he’s leveled a gun at my stomach. Most of the weapon is concealed by a khaki trench coat he wears.
“Keep your pretty little mouth shut and all will sail smoothly,” he warns, standing rigidly beside me. He glances briefly over the roof of the truck. “Tiger. Hello there, my dear old friend. Didn’t take you long to make friends, huh?”
I grow stiff. So these are the psychos that are after Tiger.
