Please share a little
about yourself, your genres, any other pen names you use.
My name is Stephan
Morsk. I’m a mental health professional who
writes daily. I’ve won a 7th and an 8th
place in a Writer’s Digest Competition out of a field of 19,000. My web site morsklitmonthly.com offers a new
short story each month. I’ve won
honorable mentions and published short stories.
Tell us a little about
your latest or upcoming release.
“HE:A Sexual Odyssey”
is the story of a law student who is involved with a series of women who either
loathe him, try to poison him, save his life or exploit him sexually. The first is the nanny of his ex boss’ kid. She sends him a hateful letter enclosing a
pubic hair and rubbed with pheromones.
After observing a woman in a coffee shop whose breasts are ‘freaks of
nature’ she leaves a briefcase and departs.
He’s unsuccessful in returning it to her, but this karmic event exposes
him to a bevy of dangerous and seductive paramours.
Are you a parent?
Father of a fabulous
girl.
If yes do you find it
hard to juggle writing and parenting?
I write first thing in
the morning before everybody is up. I
like quiet when I write.
Have you ever based
your book or characters on actual events or people from your own life?
Absolutely. I visualize a character while I write about
them. I also draw from TV and popular
culture, pictures I’ve seen in magazines or elsewhere. The actual character however comes from pure
imagination.
Is there a theme or
message in your work that you would like readers to connect to?
A couple of themes
stand out in “HE:A Sexual Odyssey.” The
first is the protagonist’s blind devotion to finding Ms. Right despite all
ignominous odds or female eccentricities.
For example, Eve, the woman with ‘freaks of nature’ breasts carries a
gun and is part of a gang of smuggler thugs.
Misha, the ineluctably hot nanny, is only interested in sado-masochistic
encounters in women’s rest rooms. A
related theme is the power of women. The
third theme that gleans through all my writing is the arbitrariness of gonzo
karma. In his desperate search for
feminine salvation “HE” is subject to intolerable twists of fate including
being beaten up by one of the gang’s thugs, an attempt to poison him, etc.
What would your readers
be surprised to learn about you?
I’m old?
When you’re not writing
what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures?
I’m a pretty decent amateur magician.
Which romance book or
series (or other genre, if you don’t write romance) do you wish you had
written?
Harry Potter.
Is there a genre(s)
that you’d like to write that you haven’t tackled yet?
No. I call my works ‘mysteroticoms’, combining
mystery, comedy and erotica. That’s what
I love writing, and, reading for that matter, although I can’t think of anyone
doing it.
Of all the characters
you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?
Eve, from “HE” is reincarnated
so to speak as Beatrice in a following book.
She’s smart, sexy, ruthless and can plug a pigeon in the air at thirty
feet with a Russian pistol. She adores
“HE’s” nine inch organ.
If this book is part of
a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?
In the next part of the
four part series, entitled “Trashy Novel:A Love Story” Eve’s reincarnated as
Beatrice. The second part, “SHE” is all
about Beatrice, the adoration or our protagonist and her strengths. The final installment, “I” is told by “HE” in
the first person.
What is next for you?
Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
I want to market “HE” to the readership it
deserves. I believe in it and feel it
needs to be appreciated widely. Then I’ll work on publishing the next
installments which are already written.
What book are you
reading now?
None. I’m a slow reader and
often just read short stories or nothing at all until I’m on vacation.
What is in your to read
pile?
Norman Mailer’s my favorite
author. I’ve never actually read “The
Naked and the Dead” so perhaps that’s it.
His best is “American Dream” in my estimation.
