I used Pinterest for the first time while writing
“Through His Touch” and it was so much fun! I’ve always researched, printed off
articles and pictures, and kept them in a notebook while I wrote a book, but
this time I slapped photos on a Pinterest board and shared them with anyone who
wanted to look at them.
It gave me easy reference and I could direct people
there if they wanted “visuals” of Levi’s apartment, the city of Atlanta, and
the cast of characters I imagined as I wrote the novel. I also included photos
of things and settings that will be in the third book of the Mind’s Eye series.
For example, I have photos of rooms that inspired me
concerning Levi’s apartment. Like his living room and a large picture of a wolf
– perfect for him! Also a photo of a kitchen/dining area that looks very
similar to his and pictures of Olympic Park, which he can see from his
penthouse.
I pinned photos of people/actors I “cast” for the
book, including photos of men who had Levi’s “look” (he resembles Ian
Somerhalder) and Trudy’s “look.” Meg Ryan (in the film “French Kiss” is my main
vision of Trudy). Gonzo is there, along with Wes.
Pinning was a great tool for me and I plan to use it
for every book I write now. I also have a board about cowboys because I write
historical romances set in the west, too!

About the Author:
Author of more than 40 novels, Deborah lives in Oklahoma. She has been a full-time writer since she graduated from the University of Tulsa. Her background as a reporter for newspapers helped her to write fast and enjoy research. After she sold her first few books, she quit newspaper work to become a freelance writer and novelist.
Deborah's first novel was published in the late 1970s and her books have been published by Jove, New American Library, Harlequin, Silhouette, and Avon. She has been a guest speaker at numerous writers’ conferences, including Romance Writers of America (RWA), Writers, Inc., and the Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc. She has served as a judge in numerous writing contests throughout the United States and has judged manuscripts in RWA’s Golden Heart Awards and RITA Awards. She is currently working on her next historical romance set in the wild, wonderful west.
