Character Profiles from the Book Guardian Unforgiven: Werewolf Awaken

Mark Melbourne: The main Character is a forty-five-year-old professional small-town Kansas veterinarian, Desert Storm Army vet. The Vin Diesel look alike tries to make the appearance that everything in his life is fine and normal, Even after the tragic death of his wife. Considered a pillar of his small community, smart and successful. Mark is the quiet and confident type but hiding secrets that effects his relationship with his daughter and everyone who is close to him.

Rhonda: The tall blond haired blue-eyed doctor who works at the local hospital, uses her ‘Barbie Doll’ looks to push her relationship with Mark to the next level. The responsible, super intelligent physician has a charm about her, strong willed and never takes ‘no’ for an answer. She will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Page:  A newcomer to the small-town, the free spirit Black haired beauty has cunning eyes and a dark past. Her tattoo’s and piercings draws you in with the impression that she can handle herself in any situation. Sassy, but get to know her and if she lets you in… a gentle touch.

Sara Melbourne: Mark’s daughter, a typical twenty-year-old college student. Her ‘bubbly’ personality matches the stereo type you would expect from her age. But, it’s an act, a self-protection reaction following the death of her mother and seeing her father’s response. Taking care of herself and at times her dad, giving him the sense that she still needed him.

Chief:  The tall older Police Chief for the local Indian Reservation. His long hair mo-hawk style gives the impression of strength and understanding that nothing in this world is black and white. From years of experience he knows the secrets of just about everyone in the area, especially Mark’s.

Jeff: The forty something, Italian looking County Sheriff. Another Desert Storm Army vet came back home after feeling the burn out from the high stress under-cover world. His OCD gives him a slight edge at his job that satisfies his inquisitive mind. His large muscular frame intimidates most and he uses it to find answers.

Jenny Melbourne: Mark’s Aunt, the seventy-one-year-old has stepped up in helping raise Marks daughter. Jenny tries to look after Mark, when he lets her. But, Jenny’s strict style and firm opinions are old fashion. Her stern look can make anyone do what she asks, regardless of age.

These characters make me wonder. Are we, as an individual being the person we are supposed to be?

Or, are we being something we only thought we should be, because we never thought there was anything else.

Excerpt 1

“…Walking closer, I started noticing her full jet black wavy hair, melding into her shoulders, her seductive eyes, wide then fading into a soft point, a deep blue color reminiscent of a wolf looking through you rather than at you. I could see the faint edge of a tattoo on her neck just under her left ear partially covered by her black leather jacket she was wearing, and a nose ring that I hadn’t noticed before. I never found tattoos or piercings to be attractive at all, well, really never, it was more of a turn off, but on her, it worked…”

Brad grew up on a farm outside of Winchester Kansas learning the value of hard work. Following college, Brad spent twelve years as a Paramedic until his second back surgery ending his successful career where he received several letters of commendation.

Brad spent time farming in his off days feeling the everyday pressures of the weather, markets and juggling the debt that is associated with large business. Following a music CD he produced named “Make Believe” with eleven of his original songs and while in the process of producing his second Album he realized his talent was more suited for writing then music.

Brad takes the experience from the sweat stinging his eyes from the heat on a hot July day in Kansas. The heartache from having to tell a parent or a child that their loved one has died and there was nothing he could do, to the struggles of trying to pursue a dream and watching it crumble in front of him.

Brad has developed a style that draws on real life experiences to provided exciting yet believable story lines that captivate readers. Writing unbelievable tales with the realism of the struggles from everyday life in the painful cookie cutter suburban age.
