Ramsey, the hero is a two thousand year old vampire. He’s lived as long as he has because he’d promised his human children that he would take care of their offspring. Now that he’s fulfilled his promise he doesn’t see the point in living any longer. He’s bored with life and is ready to greet the sun. That is until he meets Danya. Through her he’s found a reason to live again. Not because she’s some super sassy woman that he’s intrigued by, but because she awakens feelings in him that he hadn’t felt in a long time. Love. (I know. I know. Sappy. Lol)
If you are a parent do you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting? Any tips for time management or sneaking in writing time?
When I first started writing some years ago, the kids would complain that I was writing too much and not spending enough time looking at them. Now that the youngest are teenagers they prefer for me to have my own thing going on so that I’m not paying attention to them. It worked out. lol
Have you ever based your book or characters on actual events or people from your own life?
Since I write mostly sci-fi and paranormal that would be super weird and scary. Although…having hunky vampires, wolf-shifter and aliens in my life would make it more exciting!
What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
That I’m actually pretty boring and not as outgoing as I appear in my FaceBook or Twitter posts. I actually prefer home and family to a lot of people and stimulation. But really, I think most writers tend to swing toward being an introvert so that might not be such a surprise. Someone who preferred the fast life wouldn’t be happy with spending hours on end by herself in front of a computer.
When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures? Other than reading and writing?
That would be traveling. I love weekend trips and the long jaunts to different countries. I love being the tourist with my eyes on the scenery and camera out taking pictures. I love exploring. It fuels my imagination.
If this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?
I’m currently working on the second book of the War of Blood and Bonds series. Which is about Vallus and Bride, two of the characters that we met in When a Vamp Falls. I’m only a quarter into it so I can’t give too much of the plot away, but will be able to say that Bride does not want to be caught up in the world of vampires and Vallus, bent on fulfilling a promise, can’t leave her alone (the sparks are flying!)
What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in progress?
I’m currently working on the second book in the War of Blood and Bonds series. Hopefully I can get that released before the end of the year. I have a sci-fi story that I’ve been working on for over a year. Hopefully the book gods can steer me in the right direction to get that one completed. I have the fifth book in my The Undercity Chronicles of Babylonia Jones, P.I. urban fantasy series in edits. I’m looking for a May release. And lastly, I’m also hoping to have the 4th book in the Dark Wolf Enterprises, wolf-shifter series completed soon.
