ISBN: 978-1508860143
ASIN: B00UPPH8OG

Book Description:

In the decade following the brutal murder of his wife and daughter, Ian has existed in a world built on grief and hatred. Just when Ian has finally begun to claw his way through the shadows of his past, a knife to the heart ends it all . . . . or is it the beginning?

After waking up in a strange home, Ian’s only companion is the woman who saved him. Undeniably drawn to her, Ian finds himself wondering if it really is possible to love again.

Trapped in a world where she is little more than a pawn for the Fae, Kyleigh long ago accepted the reality of her existence. She is no one’s savior and no one’s guardian angel; she is death. That is until she breaks all the rules to save a vampire many believe beyond salvation. Ian sparks a passion she never believed possible and reawakens emotions she thought long buried.

While secluded in a realm between life and death, Ian and Kyleigh are free to explore their feelings for each other. When enemies past and present join forces to destroy those Ian loves they are forced to leave the safety of Kyleigh’s realm. Can their fragile bond survive when they are faced with the demons of Ian’s past?

This is part of a series, however Seducing Death is a standalone novel,
and can be read without the first two books.

Book One, Raven’s Blood, is free on AmazoniTunes,

Excerpt:
Kyleigh stopped listening to their conversation as the cold breeze of the shadows grew nearer. Time was almost up, and she still didn’t have a plan to save Ian’s life. The smart thing to do was to walk away knowing she’d done her best, but she’d watched Ian too long. No, she would not give up when Ian’s soul was so close to redemption.
“Maybe we should head back in. I’ll message Connor and see what he thinks,” Ian’s friend said, but it was too late. Both vampires heard the danger approaching. His friend pulled out the handheld crossbow and a knife while Ian drew two knives.
“Well, isn’t this a stroke of luck,” called out a human as he emerged from the woods followed by six others.
“Are you having some trouble, human?” Ian asked casually. His hands had dropped to his sides, but he still held the knives. This came as no surprise. She’d seen him in action enough to know this vampire rarely let his guard down.
“I think you already have,” the human said.
Kyleigh saw the inner struggle in both vampires. They obviously suspected the humans were up to no good, but both were too noble to kill them without provocation. That was new for Ian. No longer shrouded in darkness, Ian wouldn’t kill unless he had to.
Several other vampires stepped out of the trees, surrounding Ian and his friend. Kyleigh was all too familiar with this type of vampire. These creatures kept her busy many days. Quickly scanning the group, she found that all the innocent souls had been freed. With this newer virus they were sometimes trapped in the undead body, which was a form of torture she wouldn’t wish on the most evil person. She had yet to figure out how that was even possible, or why one of her kind wasn’t summoned to free the poor soul.
Ian and his friend reacted immediately. The knives in Ian’s hands found their marks in the hearts of two vampires, and Ian’s friend shot the crossbow at another vampire. Kyleigh watched the battle before her with a sense of helplessness. They were too outnumbered and there was no way to win. Even now, the shadows moved in, hungry for death and sin. Rubbing her arms against the cold breeze that preceded the shadows, she watched in horror as Ian was surrounded.
A scream no one would hear escaped her lips when the knife sliced through Ian’s chest. He collapsed to the ground, blood soaking the leaves. Her form wavered in and out with her rage. Despair began to settle around her, but she refused to let it control her. Ian was too close to being saved to lose him now. Whatever it took, the shadows would not claim his soul.
“Take the blond alive!” shouted one of the humans, obviously referring to Ian’s friend. “Damaged is fine, but he has to survive with no damage to his face!”
Determination flashed in Ian’s eyes, and his soul brightened as he worked hard to conceal his phone while sending a message. Then he buried the phone. Soon the blond vampire was unconscious, and Ian was struggling for life.
“Should we finish off the other one?” asked one of the humans. “Looks like he’s still alive.”
Kyleigh held her breath, praying to a god who’d long ago abandoned her that they would just leave.
The leader laughed. “Looks like he’s in a lot of pain,” he said with a vicious sneer.
The urge to use violence against the human who obviously enjoyed the pain of others came as a surprise to Kyleigh. It was a relief when they left the area so she could make her way toward Ian. His weakened state meant she had only seconds to save his life. Her decision made, she emerged from the trees, becoming visible to Ian.
Ian’s beautiful green eyes opened and focused on her as she approached him.
“Kate.” His voice was barely a whisper.
“Don’t worry,” she said in a soft reassuring voice, trying to hide her fear as the shadows closed in around them. “You’re going to be okay, but we need to get you out of here.”
Wrapping them in her power, she bound Ian’s soul to his body. Thankfully he picked that moment to lose consciousness, so she didn’t have to explain what was about to happen.

Top 10 Favorite Vampires with B. Patterson Author of Communion

Top 10 Favorite Vampires:

I like vampires who experience their vampirism in a unique way, compared to other characters in their book/movie/TV show.  Vampirism, when possible, should be enjoyed.  Also, I like vampires are b*d*ss.

#10:  Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers)
Technically, she’s a Succubus.  And one of the most powerful around.  But I mention her in case I have any readers who are 90s kids or gamers.

#9:  Kevin (Vampire Bytes)
Vampire Bytes is a series by one of my favorite Indie Authors, JC Harker.  This series features vampires whose source of powers is technology-based.  Kevin is a socially awkward programmer-turned-vampire.  Oh, the possibilities…

#8:  Christian Ozera (Vampire Academy)
A brooder.  It’s not so much that he enjoys being a vampire, but he’s something of an outcast among the other Moroi in the Vampire Academy series.  His parents went to the dark side by becoming Strigoi and everyone expects him to do the same.  Rather than wallowing in his self-pity, Christian works with others to turn their happy magic into battle magic to take the fight to the evil Strigoi.

#7:  Claudia (Interview with a Vampire)
I can’t think of anything as terrifying as having to experience eternity in the body of an 8-year old.  But no one has as much fun with it as Claudia.  She uses her cuteness to her advantage when hunting prey.  Don’t underestimate her.  Or you’ll get burned like Lestat did.

#6:  Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Hero or villain?  That’s always the question when it comes to Angel.  Either way, here’s a vampire who was too big for one show, they had to give him his own spinoff.

#5:  Jessica (True Blood)
We need some more girl power on this list!  Interesting perspective:  the sheltered Christian girl gets turned into a vampire.  What does she do first?  Explore the wonders of profanity.  Sadly, I stopped watching True Blood after season 3.  But I’m still pulling for Jessica and Hoyt to get together.

#4: Blade (Blade Trilogy)
Daywalker.  Vampire Hunter.  Unconditional B*d*ss.

#3 Camellia (Communion)
Speaking of b*d*sses… Of course I love all the dhampir in Communion (I wrote it), but Camellia has a special place in my heart.  In Communion, we find dhampir society has fallen apart.  Camellia is on a one-woman mission to make it right, even though her methods are… questionable.  As she says, “Sometimes to stop the worst kinds of evil, you must become the worst kinds of good.”

#2:  Louis (Interview with a Vampire)
The original brooding vampire.  I love Louis because he savors the vampire experience like no other.  Who else can get lost for hours staring at nothing?

#1:  Damon Salvatore (Vampire Diaries)
The ultimate bad boy among vampires.  Damon’s wit and unpredictable actions are a huge factor in why I enjoy the TV show Vampire Diaries so much.  Sure, he’s arrogant and mischievous at times.  But when something bad needs to be done for the greater good, Damon is willing to make that move.

Thanks for reading this post.

My Favorite Authors and Why Guest blog and Giveaway with Loni Flowers

My Favorite Authors and Why

Hi! Thanks so much for having me today on Creatively Green. It’s such an honor to be here with you. Today I thought I’d share a few of my favorite authors and why. There are so many fantastic authors out there and I’ve not even scratched the surface of all the awesome the writing community has to offer, but there are just some who’ve stuck out to me as I’ve read their work.

1.    Karen Marie Moning
·       I recently spent the last month devouring The Fever series. For me, it’s by far the best series I’ve ever read in this genre. Mrs. Moning and the unbelievable ability to weave an incredible story and a hundred twists and turns and keep me needing to find out more. My emotions were all over the place with this series. One minute I was laughing, the next, I was mad as hell over what the characters were doing. I can’t wait to read the Highlander series next.

2.    Stefne Miller
·       I was fortunate to come across Mrs. Miller’s first book over a year ago. I’m so glad I did. Not only is she an awesome person—we’re total Facebook and Twitter buddies—but she is extremely talented in her ability to tell a story that inspires me and makes me think about my life and how I’m living it. Her stories are so honest and real… they truly are stories I wish the world would read. My favorite thus far is Collision.

3.    Stephanie Meyer
·       Meyer fueled my love of reading. I used to hate reading in school and never gave “normal” books a try. After a friend convinced me to try the first book out, I became obsessed with reading. I just couldn’t get enough of it… and it was a plus that I fell in love with Twilight. My favorite book would have to be Breaking Dawn.

4.    Maggie Stiefvater
·       I’ve read everything except her latest book- The Scorpio Races- and I absolutely love her writing. It’s lyrical and flows so beautifully on the page. Linger, the middle book in a series has been my favorite.

5.    Julie Kagawa
·       Wow! Julie Kagawa is amazing. She can create a whole world within a world and make you feel like you’re experiencing it all. I love, love, love her Iron Fey series (I have yet to finish the last one) but I would say so far, The Iron Queen is my most favorite.

Would any of these authors be on your favorite list? Tell us who some of your favorites are!

Blurb/Book Description:

At age twenty-three, Alex has had a hard life. His parents died when he was quite young, leaving his grandparents to raise him. Right before his high school graduation, his grandparents passed on too, leaving him all alone.

After losing everyone he's ever loved, Alex turns to the streets in a self-destructive pattern until he finally ends up in Springhill, where he tries to make a new life for himself.

Clair’s childhood was normal until age thirteen, when her father left the family and she never heard from him again. Consequently, her mother went into a deep depression, forcing Clair to grow up quickly.

After finishing high school, Clair’s heartache over her father’s absence as well as her unbearable mother drive her to strike out on her own. But having nowhere to go and no family to speak of, Clair wanders aimlessly from town to town, homeless, and without purpose. Looking for work wherever she goes and living hand to mouth on the streets is tough, Clair discovers, but living with her mother is worse.

Now twenty-one years old, Clair has found her way to the last place she and her family took their final vacation as a family--Springhill. While in town, she crosses paths with Alex and their ensuing relationship grows faster than expected. Soon Clair wonders if coming back to Springhill and meeting Alex was the best decision or the worst decision she ever made.

Dancing Naked in Dixie Giveaway

DNID - EXCERPT # 1

I’m a travel writer at Getaways magazine. Paid for the glorious task of gathering up fascinating snippets of culture and piecing them into quirky little stories. Jet-setting to the Riviera, exploring the Great Barrier Reef, basking on Bermuda beaches. It’s as glamorous and exhilarating as I imagined.
Okay, it is a tad lonely, from time to time.
And quite exhausting.
Which is precisely why I have to get organized.
Today.
I sink into my chair and try to concentrate. What to tackle first? Think, think.
“Julia Sullivan!”
Third reminder. Uh-oh.
Marietta rolls her eyes and jerks a thumb toward the inevitable. “Guess you better walk the plank,” she teases. “New guy’s waiting. Haven’t met him yet, but I’ve heard he’s the ‘take no prisoners’ sort. Hope you come back alive.”
I grope for something witty and casual to say, but all of a sudden, my head feels light and hollow.
I’ve been dying to find out about the new editor.
Every last gory detail.
Until now.
“I’m still in another time zone,” I offer up to Marietta with a weak smile. My insides toss from side to side as I slide out of my chair.
Marietta tosses me a wry look. “Nice try. Get going already, sport.”
I tilt my head toward the hallway and pretend to pout. When I look back, Marietta’s already disappeared. Smart girl.
“Fine, fine.” I tug a piece of rebellious auburn hair into place, smooth my wool suit, and begin to march toward the inevitable.
Our new editor.
My neck prickles.
I’m not going to worry. Not much anyway.
            My pulse thuds.
Not going to worry about change. Or re-organization. Or pink slips.
            Focus, Julia.

Top 10 things to do in Iceland: Guest blog and Giveaway with Hannah Clark

Top 10 things to do in Iceland:

I’ve never actually been to Iceland in real life, but I have been there many times in my imagination and through research—I think I’ve even been there once or twice in my dreams.  If I could actually go there, however, these are the places I would visit.

1)       The Blue Lagoon.  This is Iceland’s most famous geothermal pool, and you can bathe in it.  It’s huge and is fed by mineral rich seawater that is heated by a nearby geothermal plant. http://www.bluelagoon.com/Geothermal-spa/

2)       Camp out in the middle of Iceland’s unpopulated tundra, away from all city lights just to watch the Northern Lights dance across the sky.  http://www.iww.is/art/shs/pages/thumbs.html

3)       Visit Gullfoss, Iceland’s most famous waterfall.  Take a picnic and hope for a rainbow to show up in the midst of the falls—better yet, get lucky and see a double rainbow, and then ponder about what it could possibly mean. J http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gullfoss

4)       Hike Mount Hekla and know once and for all what the “Gateway to Hell” really looks like. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hekla

5)       While in Southern Iceland, so close to Hella, visit Aegissida farm along the Ytri-Ranga river and check out the 12 Caves of Aegissida—yes they really do exist.  These caves look like little houses squished up against a hill side, and were believed to be made by Irish monks before the Vikings even settled Iceland.  There are even Celtic markings on the walls of the caves. http://www.nat.is/travelguideeng/plofin_hellar.htm

6)       While in Hella, stick around for the Icelandic horse races.  Just southeast of town is a race course where Icelandic horses (mini-versions of our horses) race. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_horse

7)       If the thrill seeking type—which I am not—visit Iceland during a volcanic eruption.  That could be pretty cool, and possibly life altering—literally. J http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/04/photogalleries/100419-iceland-volcano-lightning-ash-pictures/#/iceland-volcano-lightning-1_19113_600x450.jpg

8)       Visit the Black Volcanic beach in the town of Vik, located on the southern coast of Iceland.  The black sand on the beaches is made from volcanic eruptions over the years, and the mountains close by the shore look incredible! http://www.flickr.com/photos/karnevil/513542117/

9)       Of course, one should definitely visit Iceland’s capital, Reykjavic.  I hear it’s one of the coolest cities in the Northern Hemisphere with great music, happy natives, and some amazing Viking museums. http://www.visitreykjavik.is/desktopdefault.aspx

10)   Finally, I would check out some of Iceland’s cool elf rocks and their elf/troll museum in.  I read an article once that Icelanders still believe that elves and possibly trolls exist, and that they live in the peculiar rock formations that have been created over years of volcanic eruptions and extremely harsh weather conditions.  Apparently, if superstitious Icelanders come across one of these rock formations while building a road, they won’t blast through the boulder, or even move it; they’ll build their roads around them. I find that fascinating in today’s world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHvOeiGHgfw

Cobbogoth
 By Hannah L Clark
Genre: YA Fantasy romance

 Book Blurb:

To seventeen-year-old Norah Lukens, the Cobbogothians were just a myth. But after her archeologist uncle's brutal murder, and being asked to translate one of his old research journals for evidence, she begins a journey to discover the truth for herself.

Chasing the myth her uncle was obsessed with, Norah learns that his murder was a cover up for something far more sinister. If she hopes to save others from suffering the same fate he did--including the peculiarly magnetic James Riley--she must head to Iceland in order to find out the truth once and for all. If she succeeds, she'll gain the one thing she's always longed for. But if she fails, not even the gods can help her.

About the Author:

Hannah L. Clark was raised in the very small town of Oak City, UT with seven sisters and one brother. She spent most of her childhood daydreaming, writing stories, building forts, chasing after boys, and working really hard to earn money. (With six older sisters, her parents were really poor by the time she came along.)

In spite of great learning difficulty brought on by dyslexia, Hannah graduated from high school with honors and was awarded a scholarship in English to Utah Valley University. In 2006 she graduated from UVU with her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and immediately began two of her most exciting adventures yet: Motherhood and writing her first novel.

Five and a half years later, Hannah completed Cobbogoth, a Young Adult Fantasy-Adventure novel, and book one in a seven book series.

She currently lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah with her husband Michael, and their son. Hannah actively seeks to inspire kids and adults by speaking about her experiences of becoming an author in spite of dyslexia.

Hannah still daydreams, writes stories, builds forts, chases after her boys, and works really hard to earn money.
