Tell
us a little about your latest or upcoming release.
My latest release is called Linked. It is about a substitute teacher who falls in love with a
parent. There are a few things about this parent that she is not aware of. He
is involved in organized crime and… he’s a vampire. Because of his business he
is gone often and during his absents she meets the very exciting Heathcliff
Vanderpool.
This book is about soul mates in the truest sense of
the word. When a vampire links to a human, the vampire becomes more human and
less vampire. It promises to take you for quite a wild ride.
Are
you a mom ?
First and foremost I am a wife and mother. I have
four boys, who are 13, 14, 15 and 17 years old. They are my undeserved
blessings.
Do
you find it hard to juggle writing and parenting?
Yes. I often have sporting events to attend, choir
performances, and other events that require my attention. I basically take my
flash drive with me wherever I go and often my MacBook. When time permits, I
let the voices in my head escape.
Have
you ever based your book or characters on actual events or people from your own
life?
Never. All people and events are purely fictional. J
What
would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
Well, I hate to say it out loud, but I have an
addiction. I can’t get enough of hot wings. It’s actually in my latest release,
that my main character loves to eat hot wings. I am so crazy about them that it
makes my family laugh. Most people like to have a Filet Mignon or lobster when
they go out. Just give me some hot wings and some French fires and I’m good to
go.
Of
all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?
My favorite character is probably Lilly from my
first series, Easter’s Lilly. I have
four books out from that series and one coming out in September. I am oddly
close to all my characters and feel a familial attachment to them. Her
vulnerability and sensuality is addicting in a sense. I haven’t ended her
series yet, just because I am not ready to give her up.
If
this book is part of a series…what is the next book? Any details you can share?
Yes, Linked is
book one of The Linked Series. Book
two features Dante, Charlie’s brother. (Charlie is the first love interest for
the protagonist). Dante came along and stole my heart. I couldn’t just let him
go there, so I created a storyline around him. It is very sexy.
What
is next for you? Do you have any scheduled upcoming releases or works in
progress?
Book 5 of The
Easter’s Lilly Series will be out September 19th. I have book 6
of that same series in the works as well and book 2 of The Linked Series. Both will be released some time in 2014. I also
have a brand new series called Ivy Vines,
Visions and it is complete. I have not made a decision on what to do with
that one yet.
What
book are you reading now?
Right now I am reading Charlaine Harris’s Dead as a Doornail. It is one of the
Sookie Stackhouse books. I love vampire stuff. It is fun, and light and sexy
all at the same time.
What
is in your to read pile?
I am looking at my Kindle as we speak. Hidden Away by Maya Banks, Dire Warning by Stephanie Tyler and The Host by Stephenie Myers (the sample)
are all on my Kindle waiting to be opened. I will most certainly finish the
Sookie Stackhouse books and investigate more of Stephanie Tyler’s new books. I
love a good thrill.
