Tell us a little about your latest or upcoming
release.
Lady of the Dead is a Paranormal Romance. It is the first
book (hopefully) in the Night World series. The female lead, Gwen, has the
ability to see the Spirit World. This ability make her prone to attacks from
Spirit World inhabitants. Because of these attacks she has a detail of guards
assigned to protect her. While helping the police with what seems to be a
common case, Gwen hears about a war beginning in the Night World.
The
male lead, Cesar, is the King of the North American Night World. When he hears
the war rumors surrounding the Lady of the Dead he travels to Washington to
investigate. He is quietly distracted from his task by an ever growing
attraction to Gwen.
Have you ever based your book or characters on
actual events or people from your own life?
My current release is not. There is an Urban Fantasy I am
working on where the lead character started out being based on a good friend of
mine. I was joking about him becoming a cop. That joke planted a seen in my
head and the story bloomed from there.
What would your readers be surprised to learn about
you?
I have a deep love for semi cheesy action movies. I
became ridiculously excited when I heard they were making Die Hard 4. I made Die
Hard 5 the date for Valentine's Day. I also giggled my way through both
Expendables movies.
When you’re not writing what do you do? Do you have
any hobbies or guilty pleasures?
I like to knit. I currently have a queue of four blankets
and a scarf waiting for me. Oh, and a sweater, though in will probably be warm
again by the time I get to it.
Is there a genre(s) that you’d like to write that
you haven’t tackled yet?
I want to write one of those deeply moving tear-jerkers.
I know that will never happen because I feel bad being that mean to my characters.
I would also love to write a gripping thriller but knowing me I would make in
paranormal without even meaning to.
If this book is part of a series…what is the next
book? Any details you can share?
This book is part of a series. The next book will take
place a few weeks later, after things have settled down momentarily. The
working title is Viking's Sensitivity. If you read Lady of the Dead, that title
will give you a pretty big clue about the plot of the next book.
What is next for you? Do you have any scheduled
upcoming releases or works in progress?
My goal is to have Weres of Washington out by the end of
the year. Then have Homicide in King out by the end of March 2014. After that I
do not have a set timeline, but I am hoping to have Viking's Sensitivity next
by this time next year.

Gretchen happily lives in Seattle, Washington where she spends her time creating new characters and situations to put them in. She also enjoys cheering on her local sports teams, even though it sometimes seems they are allergic to winning.
